Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.
Prolific writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, the company has said.
A representative for the publisher stated: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the move was made after an investigation into allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable towards women.
The publisher did not confirm the reasons for its decision, stating: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."
A Highly Successful Literary Career
Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, boasting over more than 60 million copies worldwide in 55 languages.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.
Some of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.
To date, he has released more than 40 books altogether, encompassing a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.
Television and Literature
His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE several years ago for his services to the charitable sector and arts community.
This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
