Barcelona Set to Play Historic Game at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend
Barça revealed they will play at the partially upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition two and a half years after they moved out for construction to commence.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside based on approved permits. After final construction, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, a rise from the old capacity. The club said finished work included a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.
Stadium Testing
The club conducted a fan-accessible workout inside the stadium earlier this month. They mentioned they are seeking authorization from European football’s governing body for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December at the stadium. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
